The American Board of Holistic Practitioners offers the titles of Certified Reiki Practitioner and Certified Reiki Master to all who successfully complete the Reiki Certification Training Programs offered by Holistic Studies Institute. There are two major programs in Reiki Training at HSI. The primary level is our Reiki Practitioner Program. In this program students learn how to administer Reiki to clients in order to promote healing. Our Reiki Master Program provides advanced training to Reiki Practitioners. In this program Practitioners learn the advanced techniques that profoundly increase healing skills. Both programs are open to people in the medical professions as well as anyone with the desire to help others.
 

What is Reiki?

Dr. Mikao Usui
Reiki is a system of subtle energy-healing which uses laying-on-of-hands and distant healing techniques to assist clients to reduce stress, create relaxation and promote healing. Japanese Spiritualist, Dr. Mikao Usui, rediscovered this healing energy in the 19th century, and traced its roots back 2,500 years to Tibet. Through intense meditational practice, Dr Usui named this powerful energy, Reiki. His experience taught him that Reiki is subtle energy found everywhere in the universe, which he believed to have a Divine Source. The word Reiki is composed of two parts, Rei, meaning soul and ki, energy. Reiki energy is available to all people, regardless of belief system and is transmitted by a unique system of attunements, which open the individual to transmit the energies though the hands.
Today there are nearly one-million Reiki Practitioners world-wide, who routinely channel Reiki energy to ailing people. Reiki is being used in many settings including hospitals, hospice as well as in private practice and in self-care.

Unique features of HSI's Reiki Programs

Because Reiki has become very popular there are many programs and courses which teach Reiki and provide certification. In comparing these programs, you may find a great deal of difference in terms of what they offer. If you are comparing programs in an effort to find the one which best suits your needs, you will find that HSI's Reiki Training Programs are superior to others. Our training programs offer the following features that most others do not:
Accreditation - this is approval by a national professional association. The American Board of Holistic Practitioners accredits our Reiki Programs due to the quality and high teaching standards.
Certification - in most other programs certification is granted by the Reiki Teacher alone. In HSI's programs, certification is provided by the American Board of Holistic Practitioners. This certification is a professional certification and makes you a part of a larger network of holistic practitioners.
CEUs - are Continuing Education Units. You will earn CEUs for each level of our program, which you complete. CEU's are provided in writing by HSI by request only.

Purpose

HSI's Reiki Programs are designed for two purposes; one is to teach students how to channel Reiki Energy, in an effective, ethical manner, as a non-invasive, drugless method of healing. The other purpose of these programs is to provide certification to those who wish to professionally practice as Reiki Practitioners and Reiki Masters.  These programs are open to people in the medical professions, as well as anyone with the desire to help others, from beginner to advanced. Whether your goal is to advance your healing skills and learn more about Reiki or you intend to become a certified professional, this program is open to you.

Certified Reiki Practitioner Program

This is where all prospective Reiki Practitioners begin. This program is open to beginners as well as others who have had some Reiki Training and who wish to obtain more professional certification. Students will participate in frequently held, Practice Sessions, during which they will practice giving and receiving Reiki. Vital to this program is the class time during which students will share and discuss their practice experiences. The program also includes instructor-led meditations and periodic exercises in self-healing.
This program is composed of two Parts conveniently offered on Saturdays. Students must complete each Part before moving on to the next Part. 

Completion & Certification - Reiki Practitioner Program

Upon completion of HSI's Reiki Practitioner Certification Program, students are eligible to apply to the American Board of Holistic Practitioners to become certified as a Reiki Practitioner. Certification is renewable annually.  Fees for Certification are as follows:

$35 Certified Reiki Practitioner

Certified Reiki Master Program

Master is a title, Mastery is a lifelong process

This program is for Reiki Practitioners who wish to learn advanced Reiki techniques. This program is open only to those who have completed a Reiki Practitioner Certification Program, either at HSI or through another institution.  If you have Reiki Practitioner Certification from another source, a copy of your certification bearing the name of the Reiki School or Master is required for entry into HSI's Reiki Master Program. This program is composed of three levels, conveniently offered on Saturdays. Student must complete each Level  before moving on to the next Level. 

Completion & Certification - Reiki Master Program

Upon completion of HSI's Reiki Master Certification Program, students are eligible to apply to the American Board of Holistic Practitioners to become certified as a Reiki Master. Certification is renewable annually. Fees for Certification are as follows:

$50 Certified Reiki Master

Certified Reiki Practitioner Tuition

$25- Is submitted no later than 5 days before the class begins as an "application fee" for each Saturday class
$110- is the balance due on the first class on Saturday, provided you enrolled within 5 days of the class starting date.  If you have not paid the $25 application fee or you have not enrolled before the 5-day starting date or you are a walk-in, the balance due is $150. at the door.

Total tuition for both Saturdays is $270 for the Reiki Practitioner Program.

Certified Reiki Master Tuition

$25- Is submitted no later than 5 days before the class begins as an "application fee" for each of the following classes:
Part I --   $125 is the balance due on the first class on Saturday, provided you enrolled within 5 days of the class starting date. If you have not paid the $25 application fee or you have not enrolled before the 5-day starting date or you are a walk-in, the balance due is $150. at the door.
Part II  $150 --is the balance due on the first class on Saturday, provided you enrolled within 5 days of the class starting date.  If you have not paid the $25 application fee or you have not enrolled before the 5-day starting date or you are a walk-in, the balance due is $200. at the door.
Part II  $165--is the balance due on the first class on Saturday, provided you enrolled within 5 days of the class starting date.  If you have not paid the $25 application fee or you have not enrolled before the 5-day starting date or you are a walk-in, the balance due is $215. at the door.
 

Total tuition for both Parts is $515 for the Reiki Master Program.

3. If you are enrolling last minute (remember you must be enrolled no later than five (5) days BEFORE the course begins), you may register by phoning our office. Credit card information will be taken by one of our operators Monday - Friday 4 - 8 PM Eastern Standard Time. Have your credit card information ready, and be sure to prepare the registration form as if you were registering by mail in order to save processing time. As soon as we receive your registration, we will send you a confirmation letter or you will receive a confirmation phone call from us, indicating your enrollment is accepted.  HSI reserves the right, as does other educational institutions, to refuse enrollment to any applicant, whom it deems to be incompatible with its Reiki Programs.

The Instructor

Charlene Robbins is a Certified Usui Tibetan Reiki Master and Chair of the Department of Reiki at Holistic Studies Institute of New York. Her passion for exploring alternative healing modalities has spanned more than 25 years, during which time she worked in the healthcare industry and traveled throughout the US and Canada to study among the master trainers in the holistic community. Charlene studied under the tutelage of such notables as Renowned Metaphysical Healer, Jonathan Parker, Ph.D., and Charles Thomas Cayce of the Association for Research and Enlightenment. She studied Therapeutic Touch, Reiki, Grief Counseling, Hypnotherapy, Holotropic Breathwork, Edgar Cayce Techniques and other energy healing modalities. As a result of years of study and professional practice, Charlene has become a gifted and powerful channel for healing and Reiki Energy. Charlene earned her Bachelor of Science Degree at the Albany College of Pharmacy. She is a certified Reiki Master with the American Board of Holistic Practitioners. Charlene is also a graduate of Holistic Studies Institute of New York at Albany, where for the past 15 years, she has devoted herself to developing her intuition as well as teaching in its school of Advanced Intuitive Arts. During her tenure she has earned Certifications as a Therapeutic Touch Practitioner and as an Intuitive Counselor from the American Board of Holistic Practitioners as well as a Hypnotherapist from the American Counsel of Hypnotist Examiners. In addition, she maintains a successful private practice in Intuitive Counseling and Hypnotherapy. Charlene has developed the curriculum and teaches HSI's Reiki Practitioner and Reiki Master Programs. As a gifted Reiki Master, Charlene Robbins will guide you through your development as you become attuned to practice and channel Reiki.  Charlene teaches HSI's Reiki Courses in both New York City (Manhattan) and in Albany, New York.
